Violent crime can strike anyone, in any neighborhood, and at any time. Many citizens are concerned for their safety but do not know what defensive weapon to carry. While some electronic control devices require the user to actually touch the attacker with the device the C2 can be used from up to 15 feet away. This is because the C2 fires two small darts that are connected to the device with insulated wires. The TASER will then deliver an electric shock to incapacitate the attackers neuromuscular system for up to 30 seconds allowing the user vital time to escape from the situation. In an effort to protect law-abiding citizens from the misuse of TASER devices the company has developed an Anti-Felon ID system. The C2 will not work without an ID card inserted into the weapon. Obtaining an AFID card requires a criminal background check. Each cartridge is also then packed with bar-coded chips that identify the unique serial number of the cartridge. In this way law enforcement personnel can track the discharged cartridge back to the original purchaser. This system is designed to reduce the chances of criminals obtaining or using a TASER electronic control device.
